Thomas graduated with a Diploma in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Applied Science in Ulm, in Germany, and obtained Ph.D. from the Institute of Cancer Research. His doctoral thesis focused on the interaction between radio frequency of electromagnetic fields and conducting tissue, with emphasis on its application in phased array resonators design.
In 2007, Thomas qualified as a Chartered and European Patent Attorney and in 2014, he became a Patentanwalt, a German Patent Attorney. LMG Life Sciences Guide named him a Life Sciences Star and Who’s Who Legal Patent Agents commended his work in the medical device field.
