Mathieu Brochu

Mathieu Brochu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mining and Materials Engineering at McGill University. He is also a Gerald Hatch Engineering Faculty Fellow on Additive Manufacturing and the Director of the Powder Processing and Additive Manufacturing of Advanced Materials Laboratory. Mathieu is the Co-Director of the NSERC network on Holistic Innovation on Additive Manufacturing, and of the Canadian Additive Manufacturing Network. Before joining McGill University in 2004, he worked as a Research Officer in the field of electron beam welding and free forming of aerospace materials at the NRC-IAR-AMTC. Mathieu was also a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Sandia National Laboratories. He is currently leading research projects on the joining of advanced materials in AM and on high-heating rate sintering processes. He received the ASM Bradley Stoughton Award for Young Teachers (2009), the METSOC Brimacombe Award (2011) and the AAC Donald I. Johnson Award (2014).
